Managing Recommendations

Systemic change doesn’t happen overnight.

Following the completion of a survey in InCheq, you will be able to access your aggregated survey results. Within these results you will have access to three tabs: Overview, Hazard Profiles, and Recommendations. In this guide, we delve into the best practices for managing the recommendations and action plans that populate within the Recommendations tab as a result of your organisation’s hazard profiles.

Recommendations stemming from psychosocial hazard profiles aren't meant for immediate, universal implementation. Rather, they should be integrated into an ongoing psychological health and wellbeing strategy for your organisation. A strategic approach ensures a systematic and sustainable effort towards mitigating psychosocial risks, whilst considering your organisational resources and competing demands. With that being said, managing these recommendations effectively is crucial for integrating them into your organisation's broader wellbeing strategy.

The Purpose of Recommendations

All of InCheq’s recommendations and action plans have been developed with the expertise of a specialised health psychologist and workplace psychological safety expert, and are directly aligned with the Australian Work, Health and Safety regulatory bodies.

These recommendations are industry-agnostic and, for the most part, have been designed to be a general prompt rather than a prescriptive requirement.

Three Tabs for Efficient Management

To streamline recommendation management, our platform offers three distinct tabs:

1. Pending Tab

The Pending tab houses recommendations that are yet to be actioned. These recommendations represent potential areas of concern identified through risk profiling. Within this tab, organisations can prioritise and allocate resources based on the severity and urgency of each recommendation.

2. Completed Tab

Once the steps and activities outlined in the action plan associated with a recommendation have been implemented, the recommendation can be marked as complete and will automatically be moved to the Completed tab. This tab serves as a repository of completed recommendations, providing a clear record of the organisation's proactive efforts in risk mitigation. You can mark a recommendation as complete by navigating to the Pending tab and clicking the tick icon in the bottom left hand corner of the recommendation.

3. Removed Tab

As much as we try to make these recommendations relevant for all industries and organisations, some recommendations may not be applicable to your business needs. The Removed tab allows for the exclusion of recommendations that are deemed unsuitable or redundant.  You can remove a recommendation by navigating to the Pending tab and clicking the cross icon in the bottom left hand corner of the recommendation.

Restoring a Recommendation

Should a recommendation still be in progress or require further attention, you can easily restore it back to the pending tab. You can restore a recommendation by navigating to the Completed or Removed tabs and clicking the “Restore to Pending” link in the bottom left hand corner of the recommendation.

Compliance & Reporting

Effectively managing recommendations is not only essential for managing your organisation's psychological health and safety plan, but also for regulatory compliance purposes. By categorising recommendations into Pending, Completed, and Removed tabs, you can keep track of the steps you’ve taken in addressing psychosocial hazards as required by Work Health and Safety laws. This feature also allows for easy reporting to boards and regulatory bodies, showcasing your organisation's commitment to proactive risk management.
