Creating a Strong Password to Safeguard Your Data

To safeguard your data, it's crucial to create a robust and distinct password. By doing so, you can ensure the security of your organisation's information within the InCheq platform.

Utilising a password generation tool such as NordPass or 1Password can automate this process for you. Alternatively, you can manually create a password by following some best practices.

Creating a Strong Password

Here are some tips for creating a strong password:

• Length: Make your password as long as possible. Aim for a minimum of 12 characters, but longer is better.
• Complexity: Include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (such as !, @, #, $, %, etc.).
• Avoid Dictionary Words: Don't use easily guessable words found in the dictionary. Hackers often use dictionary-based attacks to crack passwords.
• Avoid Personal Information: Don't use easily obtainable personal information like your name, birthdate, or common phrases associated with you.
• Randomness: Generate random passwords using a password manager or a strong password generator tool. Random combinations are harder to crack.
• Avoid Patterns: Avoid using simple patterns like "123456", "abcdef", or keyboard patterns like "qwerty".
• Unique Passwords: Use a unique password for each of your accounts. This way, if one password is compromised, your other accounts remain secure.
• Avoid Common Passwords: Avoid using commonly used passwords like "password", "123456", "qwerty", etc. These are the first ones attackers try.
• Passphrase: Consider using a passphrase, which is a series of random words strung together. Passphrases can be easier to remember and type than complex passwords.

Setting a New Password:

1. Navigate to the InCheq website at www.incheq.co 
2. Access the Sign In page by clicking the "Sign In" link in the top right-hand corner.
3. Sign in using your current password, then access your profile page by clicking the account button in the top right-hand corner. 
4. Select the "Change Password" link.
5. Enter a new password (must be at least 8 characters long and complex), confirm the password, and click "Save."

Resetting your Password:

1. Navigate to the InCheq website at www.incheq.co 
2. Access the Sign In page by clicking the "Sign In" link in the top right-hand corner.
3. Click on the "Forgot password?" link below the Login button.
4. Enter your email address and click "Reset my password."
5. Check your email and utilise the temporary password to access your account.
6. Login to your account and access your profile page by clicking the account button in the top right-hand corner. Select the "Change Password" link.
7. Enter a new password (must be at least 8 characters long and complex), confirm the password, and click "Save."
