Running a successful survey campaign

A common myth surrounding organisational change is that survey fatigue is driven by the amount and length of surveys deployed. However, research suggests that the number one driver of survey fatigue is actually the employee's perception that the organisation won’t act upon the results, and therefore it’s a waste of their time.

Employees are far more likely to actively participate in future organisational surveys when they understand the purpose of the survey and the process that will be followed. If an organisation promotes their commitment to achieving systemic change, the benefits of employee participation, and how they will be using their employees data to inform changes within the organisation, they

can expect much higher uptake and engagement rates.

So, how can we combat survey fatigue and build trust in the feedback process?

Communication Strategy

A clear and effective communication strategy is the key to a successful survey campaign. To maximise success, we recommend providing your team with our educational resources to help them understand your organisation’s goal to action employee feedback. Ask your CEO or Managing Director to email your employee cohort with a brief explainer and resources.

Getting Buy-In

Align your team on the journey by leading by example. Email your departmental heads and provide context around the upcoming survey campaign. Request a commitment from them to the results and the overarching journey of creating a safer working environment.

Start the Conversation

In the weeks leading up to the organisational survey deployment date, encourage line managers, supervisors, and team leaders to discuss the InCheq platform, the survey, its purpose, and your overall business goal with their teams in weekly meetings.

Monitor Completion Rates

Monitor the survey response rate of your overall organisation, or by specific departments. For departments with lower response rates, encourage your team leaders, managers, supervisors, and departmental heads to encourage their teams to participate, and reiterate its relevance and importance.
